So, one of my favourite trip and that is Mathura, Vrindavan. The hometown of Krishna filled with his childhood memories. I visited this place with my family. We had a 2 days stay planned. We didn't have much time but a lot of places to visit and every single place was filled with peace and love so we didn't want to do it in hurry. So, I'm going to part this blog into 2 parts so that I can explain my whole day in much detail. So, here we go:
Day 1 in Vrindavan :
We started off at 6 am in the morning as it was a pleasant summer morning, a very excited me, accompanied by my family had our breakfast done by 7 am and left our place which you may see in the picture and if you follow me on Instagram you must have known I am a photography lover and wherever I am I never miss a chance to click.
When did ISKCON Temple in Vrindavan established
So, our first location was the very beautiful ISKCON Temple, which is indeed one of the most beautiful temple of India and very popular in India as Krishna Balram Mandir. ISKCON temple stands on the banks of Yamuna river which is popularly known as the place where Krishna used to play with his elder brother Balarama, and his other friends. Infect, river Yamuna has played a very special role in the life of Krishna and that is the reason why this temple is the first ever temple constructed by the international Society for Krishna Consciousness(ISKCON) built in 1975 and was founded by Srila Prabhupada .

As we enter the temple, at the entrance is located the Samadhi of Bhakti Vedanta Swami Srila Prabhupada, beautifully carved in white marble and the whole area is beautifully sculpted in white marble as shown in picture.

Deities (left side) |
On the left side is the murti of Chaitanya Mahaprabhu with Nityananda, and of Swami Prabhupada along with his spiritual guru Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvati Thakur. The central lord's table holds the murti of lord Krishna and Balarama. On the right side, the murti of Radha Krishna is associated along with Krishna's popular bhakta Lalita, Vaisakha and Gopi with whom Krishna is said to play Raasleela on Yamuna bank.
The gigantic door and stairs designed at the temple attracts the eyes the most.

The other beautiful thing we witnessed as soon as we entered the temple was the prayers and traditional music played by the devotees while some of them are dancing as well and not only Indians but a lot of foreigners are seen as devotees lost in dancing to the tunes of harmoniums. All this combined spread such a religious pleasant vibe that it becomes irresistible to leave the place.

- How can you become a monk in Vrindavan.
Wide number of people including a lot of widows, Indians and foreigners become monks and devote their life to Krishna and ISKCON temple is the best and safest place for them. They announce their programs in the morning at 5:00 am or if someone is interested they may directly talk to the authority and they will surely help you. They provide Name Daana facility that means Spiritual Initiation or Diksha, and before making your final conscious decision about acquiring Name Daana , you will be trained and tested by the authority.
There are 2 ways to be a 'monk' in ISKCON. The first is to be a BRAHAMACHARI, and the second way is to take a SANNYASA

If you want to stay in temple for some days, ISKCON temple has an attached ASHRAM which is low-cost. You may also book some nearby hotels online or offline as per your convenience. We booked a nearby hotel and visited 3_4 places in 2 days. But if you want to visit all famous places in Vrindavan you may need 4-5 days.
- How can you stay in Temple Ashram.
According to my experience I can say no trip to Vrindavan is complete without visiting the ISKCON temple. There are a lot of other beautiful places to go as well but ISKCON temple is my personal favourite. You may also check Top 5 spots to visit in Vrindavan, Mathura| Spriha_Agrawal | Spriha_Travel
